Challenge

The site had to convey the community's unique atmosphere on the first visit, along with the information.

Approach

We tied the game's visual tension to the site's colour, typography and transitions, and kept core server information quick to scan.

Key decisions

• Balance of atmosphere and information — We adjusted the hierarchy so key participation information is not buried inside strong visuals.
• Entering the community — We shortened the path from interest to actual participation.

Result

We created an entry experience where new users find the information they need while the community keeps its identity.
